أعلنت الأمم المتحدة، الأربعاء، أن قرابة 70 ألف يمني، تأثروا بالأمطار الغزيرة التي هطلت مؤخرا في أكثر من 10 محافظات.
جاء ذلك في تقرير صادر عن مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية في اليمن (أوتشا).
وقال التقرير إن الأمطار الغزيرة والفيضانات، أثرت على ما يقرب من 70 ألف شخص، بمن فيهم النازحون داخليا، في أكثر من 10 محافظات.
وأضاف أن محافظة حجة (شمال غرب)، كانت الأكثر تضررا من الأمطار الغزيرة.
ولفت إلى أن الأمطار الغزيرة، هطلت بشكل مكثف، في الأسابيع الأخيرة، ما أدى إلى زيادة حادة في عدد الأسر المتضررة من الفيضانات المفاجئة التي أدت أيضا إلى تلف في البنية التحتية.
وحذرت الأمم المتحدة في التقرير من أن الفيضانات قد تعمل على تصاعد انتشار الأمراض في جميع أنحاء اليمن، حيث هناك 293 من مديريات البلاد البالغ عددها 333 متأثرة بالفعل بوباء الكوليرا.
وأعلن التقرير أنه تم الإبلاغ عن وقوع إصابات جراء الأمطار الغزيرة، بما في ذلك وفيات، فيما لم يتم بعد التأكد من عدد الضحايا.
