أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الأميركية، الخميس، أن مسؤولين أميركيين ومن دول أخرى سيجتمعون الجمعة المقبلة لمناقشة أمن الملاحة البحرية في الخليج.
وأوضحت الوزارة في بيان أن الاجتماع سيبحث مبادرة الأمن البحري، والتي ستركز على حماية حرية الملاحة والأمن البحري في الشرق الأوسط، وأشارت إلى أن تحقيق ذلك يتطلب بذل جهد متعدد الجنسيات لمواجهة هذا التحدي العالمي وضمان المرور الآمن للسفن.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة في أعقاب تزايد التهديدات الإيرانية للملاحة وحركة السفن في مضيف هرمز ومنطقة الخليج العربي.
