Jordan, Bangladesh celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations

Folklore groups from both Jordan and Bangladesh performed Saturday night at the Royal Cultural Center to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The troupes put on creative, rhythmic performances that spoke to the folklore and popular history of the two countries.

The ambassador of Bangladesh to Jordan, Nahida Sobhan, gave a speech outlining the history of ties between the two nations and emphasising Bangladesh’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and its position on Arab issues.

Rola Awwad, a representative of the Minister of Culture, remarked on the strengthening ties between the two countries, citing common cultural values and a long history of mutual understanding and cooperation.
