Laith Zuhair Yousef Al-Mustafa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Greater Irbid Municipality<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n My trip to China was an exceptional and unique experience, rich with knowledge and inspiring observations. It left a strong and astonishing impression on me of a nation that has achieved comprehensive development and presented the world with an advanced model in urban development, planning, sustainability, and technological innovation. This trip was part of my participation in the seminar on implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in developing countries: Sustainable Cities and Towns, organized by the Academy of International Business Officials of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, from July 15 to 28, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The seminar provided me with a valuable opportunity to learn firsthand about the Chinese experience in urban development, building green cities, and achieving a balance between economic growth and environmental protection. I also learned about China’s methods in long-term planning, infrastructure development, improving public services, and promoting integration between cities and rural areas. It became clear that China’s success was not a coincidence, but rather the result of a clear strategic vision, efficient management, and continuous work focused on transforming plans and ideas into tangible achievements that serve humanity and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What impressed me most was the rapid pace of development China is witnessing across various fields, and its remarkable ability to utilize modern technology in city management, transportation organization, public service delivery, and resource conservation. China does not treat the concept of smart cities as a theoretical slogan, but rather transforms it into a tangible reality by employing artificial intelligence, big data, and digital systems to enhance management efficiency and improve the quality of life for its residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Field visits to a number of cities, institutions, projects, and development sites were also an important part of this experience. They allowed us to witness the achievements firsthand and to learn about advanced models in urban development, smart management, and environmental protection. It was astonishing to see this harmony between modernity and the preservation of cultural identity, between urban expansion and green spaces, and between economic development and social and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n China has proven itself to be a nation capable of thinking about the future and working towards it, and its modernization experience represents an important model for developing countries. China does not limit itself to achieving development within its borders, but also shares its expertise and experiences with other countries, driven by its vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity and fostering cooperation based on mutual benefit, respect, and trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond the professional knowledge gained, the trip allowed me to experience China’s rich culture, connect with participants and officials from various countries, and exchange ideas and experiences on the challenges of sustainable development. This diversity underscored that urban and sustainability issues require international cooperation and the continuous exchange of knowledge and successful experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This trip enriched me both professionally and personally, broadening my understanding of urban planning, green development, and smart management. I will take with me to Jordan many ideas and lessons that can be utilized and adapted to our national needs. China will remain in my memory as an inspiring example of willpower, planning, and action, and clear proof that wise vision, when combined with effective management and hard work, can create a great renaissance and a more sustainable and prosperous future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" shahennews Eng.
