دعت مبعوثة الأمم المتحدة إلى العراق، الثلاثاء، إلى “دعم دولي واسع النطاق” يمنع متطرفي تنظيم داعش من استعادة موطئ قدم لهم في البلاد.
وقالت جينين هينيس-بلاسخارت في مجلس الأمن، إنه إذا لم تتم معالجة مسألة عودة مقاتلي داعش وعائلاتهم من سوريا إلى العراق بشكل صحيح “فإننا نجازف في خلق أرض خصبة جديدة لجيل قادم من الإرهابيين”.
وأكدت أن هذه المسألة “ليست مجرد مشكلة عراقية”، لأن هناك مقاتلين غير عراقيين أيضا، وانتقدت ضمنا دولا لم تذكرها بالاسم تحافظ على “مسافة استراتيجية” من مواطنيها.

وانتقدت المبعوثة أيضا الاقتتال السياسي في العراق، والذي أعاق تعيينات وزارية رئيسية بعد عام من الانتخابات الوطنية، كما تحدثت عن الفساد “المتفشي في جميع المستويات في العراق”.
وأشارت لتصاعد التوترات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، والذي أثار مخاوف سقوط العراق بينهما مرة أخرى، بينما هو على طريق الانتعاش.
