Ajloun… archaeological treasures and natural resources open their arms to the media in celebration… pictures

On Wednesday, the Ajloun governorate held its first media event, which included hundreds of journalists and photographers representing various local, Arab and foreign media outlets. Organized by the Jordanian Media Authority, under the direct supervision of the Director of the Jordanian Media Authority, Professor Bashir Al-Momani, and the staff of the Authority, who accompanied the media delegation, supervised the provision of amenities to them, the Ajloun National University and the Ajloun News Agency, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Anti.

Welcoming media professionals over 200 from various local, Arab and foreign media outlets at the National University of Ajloun where they were received by the Governor of Ajloun Dr. Qiblan Al-Sharif, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Mohammed Nur Al-Samadi, the President of the University, the Chairman of the Governof the Governorate OmOm. In a speech, the President of the National University of Ajloun welcomed Professor Faras Al-Hininnah, reviewing the University’s progress and mission in the service of the local community and the highest educational message, announcing the launch of the Jordan Oxygen Initiative.

The Governor of Ajaloun Dr. Qiblan Al-Sharif also delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance and role of responsible media that transmits the image and event realistically and highlights the achievements, pointing to the Royal Karam and initiatives that the governorate received under His Majesty King Abdullah II and exceeded the 30 initiative since 2019, valued at 140 million dinars. Al-Ajloun, who came up with a royal initiative, has achieved a qualitative development shift in the governorate. The dream has become a reality. This has contributed to the operation of tourist facilities, increased the market value of land and purchasing power and increased the demand for visiting the governorate, where the number of visitors to the cable car and castle has exceeded 570 thousand since its operation.

The Director of the Media Authority, Advocate Bashir Al-Momani, said that, pursuant to the directives of His Majesty King Wyamana of the Media Authority, this initiative is designed to promote networking between the media and the governorates, which will include the rest of the Kingdom’s governorates, with a view to linking the media directly to the local community and to the development and achievements of the governorates.

President of the University Board of Trustees Member of the Technical Committee of the Ajloun Governorate Comprehensive Plan Dr. Mohammed Nur Al-Samadi said that today, Ajloun is living with joy and cheer as a National Hasloni Day with the excellence of attending media events.

The Director of Tourism, Firas, reviewed the tourism reality in the governorate and the development of the sector under His Majesty King Abdullah II, both through the Ministry and the private sector, and increased the 30 of projects along with attractive tourist routes.

The tour programme included visits to many tourist projects and archaeological sites Al-Ajloun Castle, Ajloun Mosque, Mars Elias site and Lady of the Mountain Church and the Agalon Forest Reserve, the cable car project, tourist trails and special tourism projects projects “, the delegations learned about the beauty of those projects and learned about their historical value and their impact on attracting local tourists, Arabs and foreigners in addition to its development role and its needs for more infrastructure services that stimulate more domestic and external investment.

The Director of the Ajloun News Agency and a member of the Council of the Governorate of Ajloun Munzir al-Zugul noted that the visit of so many Jordanian, Arab and foreign media outlets to the Governorate of Ajloun is a historic opportunity to promote our tourist and archaeological sites in the more than 250 archaeological and tourist sites.

The media were set off on two tracks. A team visited the residence of the Lady of the Mountain in Anjara, one of the sites of the Vatican-approved Christian pilgrimage, the cultural centre, the Ajlon Youth Complex and the Ajlon Mosque as the Kingdom’s oldest mosque. At the end of the tour, the teams met and took part in a visit to the cable car site and the Qal ‘at Ajloun.
