[KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) Holds a Knowledge-Sharing Seminar]

The KOICA Jordan Office, in collaboration with the KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ), successfully held a knowledge-sharing seminar titled “Capacity Building for Government to Achieve Gender Equality” on July 17th, 2025, at the Hilton Amman Hotel.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the government’s role in promoting gender equality and featured speakers who shared successful policies and initiatives from Jordan and other countries. The event served as a platform to exchange knowledge, explore challenges, and present practical strategies that support gender-responsive governance.

The seminar featured four insightful presentations:

1. Capacity Building for Government to Achieve Gender Equality

Presented by: Ms. Mushira Alashran – Head of Electronic Contents and Media Department, Ministry of Labor

2. Promoting Pay Equity Through Legal Awareness

Presented by: Ms. Duaa Ajarmeh – Program Support Officer, International Labor Organization

3. Gender Mainstreaming

Presented by: Mr. Ahmad Abu Asbeh – Head of Cybersecurity Division, Ministry of Labor

4. Gender Equality in Light of International Standards

Presented by: Ms. Bushra Alsalman – President, General Syndicate of Jordanian Trade Unions

These discussions highlighted the significant importance of institutional capacity, legal frameworks, and international standards in driving forward gender equality.

The seminar was attended by over 50 participants representing various government institutions and private sector entities.

Since 1991, KOICA has been providing training programs to Jordan as part of its CIAT (Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow) program, aimed at enhancing human resource capacity for the country’s socio-economic development. Over 1,170 Jordanian officials have participated in training programs in Korea to date.
