A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico (INAH) and the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), with the purpose of exchanging specialists and best practices in the fields of protection, conservation, restoration, and above all, the promotion of the cultural heritage of Petra and Chichen Itza, both recognized among the New Seven Wonders of the World.
As part of this MoU, both countries will collaborate to raise awareness of Petra and Chichen Itza internationally, enhancing their global visibility and underscoring their importance as treasures of humanity.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Fares Brizat, Chief Commissioner of the PDTRA, and Ms. Vania Carrillo-Bosch, Director of Archaeological Sites at INAH. The initiative was promoted by the Embassy of Mexico in Jordan, and the signing ceremony was witnessed by the Ambassador of Mexico, H.E. Jacob Prado.
