– A group of masked militants attacked a border post on the Tajik-Uzbek border overnight, triggering a gun battle that killed 17 people, Tajik authorities said on Wednesday.

According to Tajikistan’s National Security Committee, the attack killed 15 of the 20 militants, a guard and a policeman. The remaining five of the gunmen were captured after the attack which took place on the Tajik side of the border, 50 km southwest of the capital Dushanbe.
