Wet air mass affects Kingdom today

shahennews

– Jordan will be affected on Thursday by a wet air mass, pushing temperatures down and bringing mild autumn conditions in the highlands, while it will be moderate in the Badia and the plains, and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Clouds will build up at low altitudes, mainly in the northern and central regions, the JMD added, warning of poor visibility in the heights and the Badia due to fog and dust formation.

Friday is expected to bring in similar cool and partly cloudy weather conditions, with temperatures 5-6 degrees below annual average and a chance for light showers of rain in the morning over the northern and central regions that may extend to the south-western highlands, the meteorologists noted.

As we head into Saturday, mercury levels will rise few degrees, becoming around seasonal average and making moderate weather in most parts of the Kingdom, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will relatively hot, with low clouds and northwesterly to northeasterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom on Thursday will range between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius. In the late afternoon and evening hours, cooler weather is forecast as mercury levels slide to 17C or even 12C in the southern highlands.

In the port city of Aqaba, daytime temperatures will stand at 36 degrees, while lows will slide to 23C at night.
