Under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Mired Bin Raad, President of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Jordanian Society of Physical Medicine, Arthritis and Rehabilitation Specialists- Jordan Medical Association is organizing the “14th International Conference of the Mediterranean Forum of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine” in conjunction with the 8th Jordanian Conference of the Society of Physical Medicine, Arthritis and Rehabilitation Specialists, Titled: “Rehabilitation and Beyond”, from 13 to 16 October 2021 virtually.
The President of the Society of Physical Medicine, Arthritis and Rehabilitation Specialists, Dr. Ali Al-Rjoub, confirmed that the Society was keen to hold the conference this year to emphasize Jordan’s distinguished position in rehabilitation medicine at both the Arab and regional levels, as it paves the way for Jordan to host the World Conference on Rehabilitation Medicine in 2025. He pointed out that there will be a session on the regulating legislation and strategies for rehabilitation and assistive technology in cooperation with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the World Health Organization.
The President of the Conference and EC member of ISPRM, Dr. Khalil Al-Abbadi, indicated that despite the Corona pandemic and its consequences, the number of countries participating in the conference this year reached 28 countries from around the world; where the participants will discuss ways to develop Rehabilitation specialty at all educational and training levels and introduction of sub-specialties in rehabilitation. He also pointed out that this conference comes in conjunction with the royal directives on developing and strengthening health systems in the Kingdom, and qualifying workforce to provide the best services for patients and people with disabilities.
