One gendarmerie personnel killed, four others injured in gas grenade mishap

Amman, Aug. 10 (Petra)– One gendarmerie personnel was killed and six were injured including four policemen and two gendarms, when a gas grenade accidentally exploded inside their military vehicle in Fuheis district, Balqa governorate.

The explosion took place while the police and gendarmerie personnel were on duty in relation to Fuhais festival.

A security source said that an investuigation was opened into the cause of the accident.

Interior minister, directors general of Public Security Department, Gendarmerie Department and Civil Defense Department visited the accident site.
