Israel army arrests 16 in West Bank, Palestinians condemn settlement expansion

shahennews

Israeli occupation forces on Monday arrested 16 Palestinians during raids in about half a dozen towns across the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned ongoing expansion of Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands, the latest of which was the construction of housing units in a settlement in the Northern Jordan Valley of the West Bank as part of a scheme to establish a city in the area.

The storming of Palestinian towns and refugee camps, building of settlements and land grabs depict the real face of the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime, according to a ministry statement.

“Colonialist Israel hijacks the state of Palestine, detains its people and treats them like hostages, who are subjected to torture, persecution and racial discrimination, allows itself to seize their land and judaize holy Christian and Muslim sites, displaces them, denies their human and civil rights and destroys their economy and livelihoods,” the ministry said in a statement.
