The total number of global COVID-19 cases has surged to 459.8 million, as of Tuesday, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

The University, in its latest update, revealed that the current global death toll rose to more than 6.4 million. The United States is still the leading country in terms of coronavirus deaths and cases, it added.
