A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Monday, but will remain 3-4 degrees above the seasonal average, with moderate weather prevailing in much of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba where it will be warm, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

On Tuesday, the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea, including the Kingdom, will be affected by an air depression accompanied by a cold and wet air mass coming from central Europe origin, pushing temperatures down and bringing relatively cold and cloudy weather with spotty showers in the western areas extending to cover all regions, the JMD said.

Rainfall will be often heavy with thunder, hail, and lightning in some areas, causing flash floods in valleys and lowlands, including the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Winds will be westerly with strong gusts, blowing dust in the Badia, the JMD added.

Mercury levels will continue to dip on Wednesday, becoming below the annual average by 3-4 degrees and bringing cold conditions with cloudy skies and occasionally heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and hail in various regions.

Toward night, the weather will start to stabilize as the precipitation will gradually decrease.

Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 22 degrees Celsius and a low of 8C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 30C, sliding to 17C at night.
