Saudi Arabia, Syria welcome resumption of consular services, flights

 Saudi Arabia and Syria Wednesday evening welcomed the resumption of consular services and flights between the two countries.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a joint press statement was issued at the conclusion of the visit of Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad to Saudi Arabia, in which the minister expressed his country’s appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to end the Syrian crisis and its provision of humanitarian and relief aid to those affected by the earthquakes that struck Syria.

Mekdad on Wednesday arrived in Jeddah on a working visit at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
