Both aircraft returned to Israel to pick up another 275 Mexican people who were still at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, to bring them to Mexico and thus complete the repatriations.
Therefore, all the people who until this weekend requested to leave the region are now outside the conflict zone, in accordance with the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and thanks to the effective action of the Army.
This Sunday’s transfers and repatriations added to the two humanitarian flights of the Mexican Air Force that arrived last Wednesday, October 11, with 287 people who returned safely home to Mexico.
The priority to transfer and repatriate nationals was ordered by applying the criteria of conditions of vulnerability, established by the Standards for the Execution of Assistance and Protection Consular Mexican Persons Abroad.
Thus, space was first given to girls, boys and adolescents; people injured, injured or with a medical condition; elderly people; people with disabilities, and pregnant women.
People who traveled to Madrid, after leaving via the airlift, received assistance to continue their return trips to Mexico and other points in Europe. The Foreign Ministry, through the Mexican Embassy in Spain, negotiated a preferential price for dozens of seats per day with Iberia Airline on direct Madrid-Mexico flights.
Since the beginning of the crisis, on October 7, Mexico implemented emergency care protocols that included enabling 24/7 attention through social networks, by telephone and email, through the Center of Diplomatic Liaison and the Center for Information and Assistance to Mexicans.
The evacuation plan carried out by the Army and the Foreign Ministry made it possible to meet the state’s commitment to evacuate our compatriots from areas of conflict and risk to safe places.
The Government of Mexico, through the Foreign Ministry, will remain attentive to the course of the situation that exists in that region, privileging its conviction to promote the reaching of a peaceful solution, which ends this armed conflict and the impact to the civilian population.
