shahennews

SANAD Association for Rights and Freedoms condemns in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack that targeted a church in Karak Governorate, claiming innocent lives and injuring others. This horrific crime violates the right to life and the sanctity of places of worship, and assaults our deeply rooted humanitarian and national values.

The Association affirms that this attack affects all Jordanians, and that the unity and solidarity of our society, together with the bonds of brotherhood and citizenship that unite its people, will remain stronger than attempts to spread fear, division, and hatred. The Association also commends the efforts of the Jordanian authorities to pursue the perpetrators of this crime and bring them to justice, protect citizens, and safeguard their right to security and to practise their religious faith in peace.

In view of the profound shock caused by this tragedy, and the deep grief, anger, and pain experienced by the people of Karak, the Association calls for the urgent formation of a team of qualified counselling and psychological support specialists. Working in coordination with health authorities, relevant institutions, and civil society organisations, the team would provide support to the injured and their families, the families of those who lost their lives, and those who witnessed or were affected by the attack, with particular attention to children, women, and older people.

The Association stresses that this response should include psychological first aid, supportive listening, assessment of individual needs, referrals to specialised services where necessary, and follow-up support for those affected in the period ahead. Such support must preserve their dignity and privacy and respect their willingness and readiness to receive assistance. Supporting families as they cope with loss and the impact of this painful event is a humanitarian and community responsibility that requires coordinated efforts and sustained care.

SANAD Association for Rights and Freedoms extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and all the people of Karak, wishes the injured a speedy recovery, and affirms its solidarity with everyone affected by this tragedy. SANAD Association for Rights and Freedoms
