Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday closed Beit Hanon/ Erez crossing in the Gaza Strip’s northern border before the movement of people, as well as the commercial crossing of Karm Abu Salem, the only commercial crossing of commodities into the besieged enclave, the Israeli radio announced today.

“Israeli authorities have reduced the fishing area in the stripe to only three nautical miles in the sea, as part of punitive measures against Gazans” it added.

Meanwhile, chief of general staff of Israeli army, Gadi Eizenkot, has cut his short visit to New York due to the escalation in the besieged enclave.

The ministerial council will convene today for a pre-planned meeting to discuss the situation inside the strip.

Reports said that minister Avigdor Liberman urged cabinet to approve a serious blow to Hamas movement in Gaza in light of ongoing escalation along the Strip’s security fence.
