Arab League affirms support efforts to end Palestinian divide

The Arab League (AL) affirmed full support for Palestinian national reconciliation efforts lead by President Mahmoud Abbas and the Egyptian leadership to end divisions and restore national unity.

The Al Secretary-General for Palestinian Affairs Saeed Abu Ali, said the league is working to end the Palestinian division and mobilize efforts to confront the Israeli occupation, the latest US decisions including moving its embassy to Jerusalem, cutting UNRWA funds, and to support rights of the Palestinian refugees .

The league official stressed that the Palestinian issue will remain a just cause of brave and courageous people who seek freedom.

In a celebration held in the Palestinian embassy in Cairo marking the 14th anniversary of late leader Yasser Arafat , Palestine’s ambassador and permanent AL envoy Diab Al Loh, said that Arab countries have always affirmed solid support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to defend their lands, sanctities as well as their unshakable determination to end the Israeli occupation.
