Woman dies, child injured in Irbid house fire

A woman died and her child suffered a respiratory distress, and his condition was described as “critical” due to gas inhalation as a result of a fire that broke out in their house in the Soum al-Shunnaq area in the northern governorate of Irbid on Saturday evening.

Irbid’s Civil Defence Department (CDD) personnel managed to control and extinguish the fire, provide first aid for the injured, transport him and evacuate the dead body to the nearest hospital.

An investigation was launched to determine the causes of fire, the CDD added.
