Seven people killed in Kabul car bomb explosion

Seven people were killed and seven injured on Wednesday after a car bomb explosion in the Afghan capital of Kabul, a government spokesman said.

Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Afghan interior ministry, said the blast occurred in the city’s police district 15 near the interior ministry.

All the dead were civilians, he said. “This is preliminary information, and we will reveal more details later.”

Another source in the ministry said the blast was caused by a suicide car bomb and targeted a convoy of government vehicles on a main road. It is still known whether anyone in the convoy were among the victims.
