Honduras to relocate embassy to Jerusalem

Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez said his government would relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem once Israel opens an embassy in Tegucigalpa.

Hernandez made the announcement Saturday during a ceremony to receive a warship his country bought from Israel, the French Press Agency reported.

“We’re just waiting for Israel to open its office in Tegucigalpa and we’ll be transferring our embassy to Jerusalem,” said Hernandez.

Last September, Honduras opened a commercial office in Jerusalem as an extension to its Tel Aviv-based embassy.
