Relatively cold weather is expected on Tuesday in most parts of the country, except for the Jordan Valley and Aqaba where it will be warm, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Clouds will appear at various altitudes, building up in the evening and bringing a chance of scattered rain in the northern and central regions. Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust and causing poor visibility, the JMD added.

A tangible drop in mercury levels is expected on Wednesday. Therefore, cold and partly cloudy conditions will prevail nationwide with rainfall that may turn heavy, accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas at times, and forming flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the department noted.

As for Thursday, similar cold and cloudy weather will remain with scattered showers in the western regions, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, stirring dust in the Badia, the JMD further said.

Maximum temperatures expected for today will reach a high of 16 degrees Celsius in the capital and 14 in the northern and southern cities, dropping down to 7, 5 and 4 respectively. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 25 degrees sliding to 14 at night.
