Fifty-three domestic COVID-19 cases recorded in Jordan Sunday

Breaking down the details of the infections, a joint statement issued by the MoH and the Prime Ministry said that 41 of the 53 newly domestic cases were recorded in Amman, seven of which are still being investigated to determine their source, and eight cases were recorded in the Balqa governorate, for people who had been in contact with others infected.

Two other cases were recorded in the northern governorate of Irbid for people who had been in contact with others infected, one case was registered in Mafraq, which is still being investigated to determine its source.

Also, a man who came from Saudi three weeks ago tested positive for COVID-19. He tested positive in his self-isolation in his home in the Ramtha region following a two-week quarantine in a hotel upon his arrival to the Kingdom.

Five non-domestic cases were registered, three of which for people who had come from abroad and had been staying in quarantine hotels, and two cases for truck drivers who tested positive at the Al-Omari Border Crossing.

On a higher note, 56 patients recovered, the statement reads, adding that 11,925 tests were conducted today as the tally nears 894,400.
