China reports 6 new imported COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland has reported six new imported COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, the National Health Commission (NHC) said Saturday.

Of the new imported cases, two were reported in Shanghai, two in Guangdong, and one each in Fujian and Shaanxi, the commission said in its daily report.

As of Friday, the total caseload on the mainland had reached 85,174, the NHC pointed out.

Altogether 80,386 people had been discharged after recovery, and 4,634 had died of the disease, the commission said.

There was one suspected COVID-19 case on the mainland, while 6,800 close contacts were still under medical observation after 351 were discharged Friday, according to the commission.
