China confirms 33 new coronavirus cases

China’s National Health Commission (NHC) on Monday announced that 33 new confirmed COVID-19 infections were recorded over the last 24 hours, of which 20 were imported.

The NHC said in its daily brief that “the 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland reported 40 new asymptomatic cases, including 26 imported cases.”

To date, the total caseload on the Chinese mainland has reached 87,150 by Sunday, while the death toll stood at 4,634 as a result of the virus, according to the commission.
