The Kingdom’s 14 major dams now hold 35.2 percent of their total storage capacity of 336.4 million cubic metres (mcm), Minister of Water and Irrigation Motasem Saidan said on Sunday.

“The recent rainfall channelled water into the country’s major dams, bringing its storage to 118.5mcm,” the minister added.

A statement by the ministry indicated that the recent rainfall raised the overall precipitation seen since the start of the wet season to 3039.6, which is about 37.1 percent of Jordan’s long-term annual average rainfall of 8.1 billion cubic metres.
