Rise in temps forecast for two days

 A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Monday, but remain below their annual average, so relatively cold weather will prevail in the highlands and the plains, while it will be moderate in other regions, with easterly to northeasterly winds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

A further increase in mercury levels is forecast on Tuesday becoming around seasonal average and bringing fair weather in most parts of the country, and warm conditions in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba with southeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD said.

On Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to drop again. Therefore, it will be cold in the hilly areas and the plains, and mild in other regions, with overcast skies and northwesterly winds, the department added.

As we head into Thursday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass, pushing mercury 3-4 degrees below annual average and making cold conditions in most areas of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be fair, with low-altitude clouds in the northern and central regions. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the forecasters predicted.

Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 17 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 9C at night, while the Gulf city of Aqaba will see a high of 26C, dipping to 15C during night hours.
