Cold weather forecast in highlands

shahennews

Jordan on Wednesday will be affected by a cold and wet air mass, pushing temperatures 3-4 degrees below annual average and bringing relatively cold conditions in the highlands and the plains, while it will be fair in other regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Clouds at low altitudes are also forecast to build up in the northern and central areas of the country, with westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.
Thursday is expected to bring in similar weather conditions, with low clouds and southwesterly moderate winds, picking up at times, the JMD noted.
On Friday, mercury levels will drop few degrees, so it will be cold and partly cloudy with a chance of spotty showers in the northern and central highlands, the department predicted.
Toward night, skies will gradually clear and rainfall will taper off, the JMD further said.
The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom will range between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius today, dropping to 3 at night. In the Red Sea port of Aqaba, it will be much warmer with mercury levels reaching 23C.
