Monday, the Assistant Secretary General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health Ghazi Sharkas told Amen FM that the COVID-19 situation in the Kingdom and the epidemiological curve have begun to stabilize.

Sharkas stressed the need to adhere to preventive and public safety measures which include wearing face masks and social distancing.

Regarding the postponement of dates between receiving the first and the second doses of the coronavirus vaccines, Sharkas stressed that this came in accordance with the most prominent scientific studies.

He added that the individual should only receive the same COVID-19 vaccine in the first and second dose.

As for Ramadan, Sharkas said that in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus, people should not distribute water and dates to the citizens on the streets hours before the Iftar.

“We do not prefer distributing water and dates on public streets during Ramadan,” Sharkas said.
