Arab Parliament adopts initiative to form Arab health organization

The Arab Parliament adopted, on Monday, a proposal to form an Arab Health Organization, affiliated with the Council of Arab Ministers for Health, to address all health-related matters in Arab countries and provide reliable and approved data and information instead of relying on the World Health Organization.

The Arab Parliament also adopted a proposal to establish a bank and an electronic platform to share successful Arab experiences in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as directing more financial support to research, scientific and medical activities for Arab efforts in the field of reaching effective vaccines to address epidemics, and prepare for any future health challenges.

Head of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee of the Arab Parliament, Mastoura al-Shammari, indicated that this initiative aims at joint Arab cooperation in promoting information exchange between Arab countries, and coordinating joint Arab efforts in the field of research, scientific and medical activities and enhancing the capacity of Arab countries in the field of producing effective vaccines for epidemics and preparing for any future health challenges.
