Parliamentary committee underlines Jordanian- Romanian ties

Head of the Jordan-European parliamentary committee Khaldoun Hayna on Thursday underlined the importance of the Jordanian-Romanian relations, and the need to boost them in various fields.
During a meeting with the Romanian Ambassador Nicolae Comanescu, Hayna stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the unwavering Jordanian position towards the Palestinian cause, as well as the demand for a holistic solution.
He called for strengthening bilateral ties in various fields, especially the parliamentary, agricultural and information technology sectors.
During the meeting, Comanescu said that his country supports the two-state solution regarding the Palestinian issue, stressing Romania’s support for Jordan’s custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He said: “Romania is a key partner and a strong supporter of Jordan’s position regarding the Palestinian issue.”
The envoy also called for enhancing relations between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary, tourism, medical and higher education sectors.
