The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday said that civilian evacuations from Ukraine were halted in two cities in the country’s southeast.

A statement by the ministry said that its Crisis Cell and Jordan’s embassy in Ankara made contacts throughout the night with Ukraine’s diplomatic missions concerned with the evacuation plans, including the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the local authority in the city of Sumy, members of the Jordanian community and a number of Arab ambassadors residing in Ukraine.

“For the time being, the ministry is closely following the status of Jordanians in Ukraine, and is pushing to immediately implement the necessary procedures and provide the safe means of transportation in the event of embarking the evacuation process at any time,” the statement added.
