Jordan condemns Israeli escalation in Palestinian lands

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Monday condemned Israeli escalation in the Palestinian lands in the last few days and ongoing provocative raids into the Al-Aqsa Mosque / Haram al Sharif compound by hardline Jews under the protection of Israeli police.

The ministry’s official spokesperson Haitham Abul Ful said the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship for Muslims only, stressing the need to stop measures barring worshippers from entering the holy compound.

The extremists’ raids are in violation of the historical and legal status quo and the international law, he said, urging a cessation of all provocative and unilateral measures that lead to further escalation and violence.
