Jordan remains in the grip of a relentless heatwave on Thursday, with exceptionally high temperatures in the Badia region, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has issued a warning regarding direct sun exposure during peak hours in most areas. They have also emphasized the importance of not leaving children unattended inside closed vehicles and refraining from storing flammable substances such as sanitizers and perfumes in cars.

Hot weather conditions are expected to persist on Friday and Saturday across most regions of the country. Meanwhile, areas including the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, will have particularly intense heat during this period. Moderate-speed northeasterly to northwesterly winds are predicted.

The heatwave will extend into Sunday, maintaining hot temperatures in most regions, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will still face extremely high temperatures. The prevailing winds will continue to be moderate and blow from the northeast to the northwest.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 38 and 26 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 25 or even 23 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 43C and lows of 30C.
