Ten citizens were killed and others were injured early Tuesday after Israeli occupation aircraft targeted two houses in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip.

In a press conference Monday evening, the government media office in Gaza stated that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7 has climbed to 11,240, including 4,630 children and 3,130 women.

The deaths also include 198 medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, as well as 21 civil defense personnel and 51 journalists. The number of injuries reached 29,000, with over 70% of them being children and women.

The media office revealed that the total number of massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces reached 1,153, with 3,500 people still missing, including 1,740 children who are still under the rubble.

Amid the Israeli forces’ targeting of hospitals, particularly threatening medical staff, 25 hospitals, and 52 health centers were out of service due to the Israeli aggression. Additionally, 55 ambulances have been targeted.

It added that Al-Shifa Medical Complex lost more than ten individuals, including premature babies, patients in intensive care, and wounded people. Medical teams were unable to save their lives due to the halt in operating rooms caused by fuel shortages and power outages.

Furthermore, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCC) announced on Monday night that the only power generator in Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis has stopped working, posing a threat to the lives of 90 patients receiving treatment there.

“Today, the sole power generator at Al-Amal Hospital, affiliated with the PRCS in Khan Younis, stopped working. This threatens the lives of 90 patients receiving treatment, including 25 in the medical rehabilitation section who now face the risk of death at any moment,” the PRCC stated in a statement.

Additionally, the statement highlighted that around 9,000 displaced individuals have sought refuge in the PRCS premises and the hospital.

The hospital is currently relying on a very small generator to supply electricity only to the maternity ward and emergency lighting. It’s important to note that the remaining fuel is expected to run out within the next 24 hours.

The power generator’s failure is impacting the operations of both the PRCS headquarters and Al-Amal Hospital, which includes the emergency operations room for the Gaza Strip. This has resulted in a loss of communication with the operation rooms scattered across the Gaza sector.
