Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan, Aziz Daihani, announced more than 430 Kuwaiti investment companies were registered at the Jordanian Ministry of Trade and Industry and 77 Kuwaiti investors conduct their business through the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC).

In an interview with “Petra” on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of Kuwait’s National Day, Dihani said: “There is a great desire among a large number of Kuwaiti investors to invest in Jordan due to its stimulating investment climate and regulatory laws that protect freedom of investment.”

Kuwait, he said, ranks the first Arab nation in the volume of investments, estimated at $18 billion, covering energy, real estate, or infrastructure sectors.

Continuing:” There is also activity of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in the Jordanian governorates, where it is carrying out projects, and providing loans and grants to Jordan.”

The two sides, he noted, also maintain “full” political coordination on regional and international issues, adding the two countries have so far signed more than 73 cooperation agreements in the various fields, especially in the economic, security, investment, cultural and media domains.

On the Palestinian cause, he said the two countries share similar stances in this regard, affirming Kuwait’s support to the Hashemite guardianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
