-Minister of Health, Dr. Sa’ad Jaber, announced that 363 new Covid-19 cases, including 9 imported infections, were recorded in the Kingdom.

Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday at the Prime Ministry, he said two virus-related deaths for two patients, one in his eighties and the other in his seventies, were recorded in accredited hospitals, bringing the death toll to 35 since the start of the pandemic.

Of the local cases, 268 were registered in the capital Amman, 4 in Karak, 43 in Balqa, 6 in Irbid, 26 in Zarqa, 1 in Maan, 1 In Ajloun, 1 in Madaba, and 4 in Mafraq, according to Jaber.

Meanwhile, 98 additional patients have recovered, bringing the cumulative recovery cases so far to 3, 812, he noted, adding 844 are still under treatment.

The minister pointed out that the epidemiological investigation teams have administered 17 thousand tests today, bringing the cumulative count since the start of the pandemic to 10112679 tests.

Within two weeks, Jaber said the Ministry intends to introduce laboratories capable of testing samples in Irbid, Zarqa and the southern Jordan Valley, indicating that the decrease in the number of infections in the governorates is due to the curfew imposed on hotspots.

To further control the epidemiological situation, Jaber called on citizens to stay away from gatherings, and celebrations that violate health instructions, to abide by physical spacing, wear face masks and use sterilizers.
