8 tourist facilities shut down, 25 fined for breaching preventive measures

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’s (MOTA) inspection teams, in cooperation with other relevant authorities, have shut down eight tourist facilities and fined 25 others during March for not complying with health and safety measures.

In a statement, the ministry said that the 15 inspection teams have intensified their oversight tours during the last period and conducted some 942 visits to various tourist facilities, including hotels and restaurants, across the Kingdom.

The ministry indicated that 573 tourist establishments have adhered to public safety and health protection standards, noting that 129 other facilities have been notified.
