shahennews

Monday, Lebanon began implementing its fourth and final phase of easing closure measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, despite the continuing high numbers of deaths and cases.

Lebanon is currently in the midst of a dangerous economic downturn, which has seen the Lebanese Lira plummet to over 16,000 to the dollar. In 2019, the lira was 1,500 to the dollar.

Restaurants, cafes, gyms and kindergartens will be able to operate until 8pm at 50 percent capacity.

Bars and nightclubs remain closed until further notice, and the ban on holding gatherings for social and religious events remains in place.

On the eve of the start of the fourth round, the Lebanese Ministry of Health recorded 42 deaths and 2,968 new cases of Coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
