Mercury levels on Sunday are expected to register 4-5 degrees higher than annual average, so it will be moderate in the highlands, relatively hot in the Badia and the plains, and hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

On Monday, a slight rise in temperatures is predicted, but similar weather conditions will continue to persist, the JMD added.

Toward Tuesday, a further increase in mercury is expected, reaching 6-7 degrees above seasonal average and bringing relatively hot weather in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will be hot in other regions, the JMD predicted.

Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 31 degrees Celsius, dropping to 19C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 39C, dipping to 24C during night hours.
