Spotty and light showers are forecast on Wednesday evening in the central and northern highlands, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily forecast, expecting cold weather in much of the Kingdom with southwesterly to southeasterly moderate winds.

For Thursday, the JMD said it does not expect a major change in weather conditions which will remain chilly as mercury levels remain in the 11 degrees Celsius vicinity. It will be much warmer in the Gulf of Aqaba and the Jordan valley with temperatures around 22 degrees.

However, the department said a depression is expected to bring rain to much of the southern region on Friday evening, extending to other parts of the Kingdom as we go further into the night.

On Saturday, cold and partly cloudy weather is forecast with rainfall expected across the Kingdom.

The highs in Amman and other highlands will range between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 4C or 3C in the southern highlands.
