UNSC to discuss situation in Yemen Thursday

The UN Security Council (UNSC) on Thursday will hold a briefing, followed by closed consultations on Yemen.

During the two sessions, Council members will listen to briefings from UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Joyce Msuya, in addition to head of the UN Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA), Major General Michael Beary.

The truce in Yemen expired on October 2, despite efforts to renew and expand the truce agreement.
