Jordan is expected to see a slight relief from the blazing heatwave on Tuesday as the hot air mass recedes, leading to a minor drop in temperatures. However, the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience hot weather, while the highlands and plains will see moderately warm conditions.

In its daily report, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) issued alerts about the risk of direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours in most regions, highlighting the dangers of leaving children in closed cars and storing flammable materials as well as sanitizers and perfumes inside vehicles.

After a brief respite, temperatures are predicted to soar once again on Wednesday. The hot conditions will return, particularly in mountainous areas and plains. The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba are predicted to experience exceptionally high temperatures during this time.

Over the weekend, similar scorching conditions will persist with northwesterly moderate winds, occasionally picking up. The weather department has advised citizens to take extra precautions to avoid heat-related risks and to stay indoors during peak hours in addition to drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 20 or even 18 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 42C and lows of 29C.
