Rise in temps expected over weekend

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Thursday, but relatively cold weather will continue in most areas of the country, while it will be moderate in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with high clouds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Cold weather will prevail at night in most regions, while it will be mild in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea with southeasterly moderate winds, the JMD added.

The weather will be pleasant over the next two days in many areas and moderate in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba with easterly moderate winds, the department noted.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will hover around 18 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern governorates, dropping down at night to 6 degrees. The weather will be warmer in the southern port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 30 degrees and lows sliding to 19, the JMD added.
