52 new COVID-19 cases in Jordan, 43 local cases

A total of 52 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Jordan on Saturday, 43 of which are local cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 2,353

The cases are:

• 22 cases in Amman — 15 of which came into contact with other positive cases and seven cases are being investigated to find the source

• 14 cases in Balqaa — they came into contact with other positive cases

• Six cases in Irbid— they came into contact with other positive cases

• One case is Zarqa — came into contact with other positive cases

• Eight people who travelled from abroad who are currently staying in hotel quarantine

• One Jordanian truck driver who entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing

Twenty-four recovery cases have been confirmed in Jordan on Saturday— 23 were discharged from Prince Hamzah Hospital and one from isolation areas in the Dead Sea

A total of 9,268 PCR tests have been conducted on Friday, bringing the total number of tests since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 882,473
