17 new COVID-19 related deaths, 1,271 cases recorded in Kingdom

A statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health said Friday Jordan has recorded 17 new COVID-19 related deaths and 1,271 cases across the Kingdom.

The new cases were: 507 in Irbid, including 42 in Ramtha district, 441 in Amman, 62 in Zarqa, 58 in Mafraq, 43 in Balqaa, 37 in Karak, 36 in Jerash, 32 in Tafila, 17 in Aqaba, 16 in Ajloun, 16 in Madaba, and 6 in Maan.

The statement added that 85 were admitted to hospitals today and 103 were discharged after recovering.

Further, it said that 21,313 swab tests were taken today, bringing the total number of examinations since the outbreak to 3,196,868 with a positivity rate of 5.96 per cent for the day.
