Hot weather forecast over weekend

The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecast that mercury levels on Thursday will rise 6-7 degrees above annual average, making relatively hot conditions in much of the Kingdom, except in the highlands and the plains where it will be moderate.

On Friday, a further increase in temperatures is predicted, bringing relatively hot conditions in hilly areas and the plains, and hot weather in other regions, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD said.

Toward Saturday, mercury will dip few degrees, making again fair weather in the highlands, while it will be relatively hot in other areas of the country, with northwesterly moderate to active winds, the JMD added.

Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 32 degrees Celsius, dropping to 19C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 38C, dipping to 24C during night hours.
