Cultural cooperation plans between Jordan, GCC states discussed

Jordan took part in the 6th meeting of joint cultural cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Kingdom, which was hosted by Qatar, in cooperation with the GCC General Secretariat, represented by the Human and Environment Affairs sector, and Department of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities.

The meeting, held on Wednesday evening on the sidelines of the 32nd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), was attended by members of the Cultural Committee in Qatar, the rest of the GCC member states in addition to Jordan.

A statement by the Qatari Ministry of Culture said that the gathering reviewed the joint committee’s decisions made by high-ranking officials at the GCC and Jordan’s ministries of foreign affairs, as well as the decisions of the GCC ministers of culture in their 26th meeting regarding the joint collaboration with the Kingdom.

Furthermore, the meeting tackled a range of related topics, most notably coordinating stances between the GCC countries and Jordan, supporting it in international organizations and forums, coordinating joint cultural cooperation plans during the upcoming period, fostering and promoting cultural diversification and heritage, and strengthening innovative industries. Participants in the meeting also discussed the future strategy in supporting the joint cultural action.
